Concord is committed to R&D and currently ploughs back considerable amounts of its turn over to R&D. We collaborate with Indian Universities some of whose students have prosecuted their PhD projects with us . Currently research topics include PLZT which has an exceptionally low hysterisis and makes it eminently suited for actuators and investigations are underway in making environmentally friendly lead free piezoelectric ceramics with very high d constant as well as for deformable mirrors.

Most importantly, we are working for development of multi resonant transducers and a special mention may not be out of place that this organisation has given exceptional technical support for indigenisation of various products which have been successfully translatedfrom R&D into production and into marketing in substantial numbers to various organisations. This interaction has also resulted in important commercial spin offs. Development of fine grained high density PZT is under investigation.

Future development will open up new possibilities and in many fields novel solutions of problems will arise depending upon the ingenuity of the piezoceramicist and multi disciplinary specialists.
